Preformulation Science (Competence)

'This course is developed to introduce the rationale,principles and practical applications of pharmaceuticalpreformulation science in the development andmanufacture of pharmaceutical products.The importanceof material attributes on product quality will be highlightedas final product quality can be related to raw materials.Topics to be covered will include rationale and principles ofpharmaceutical preformulation studies, quality attributes ofmaterials associated with common pharmaceutical unitoperations and techniques for characterizing materials.Students will also be introduced to statistical methodsrelevant to preformulation/formulation (e.g. for screening,optimization and assessment of excipients and productquality).'
