Livia Michelle Iskandar Leo
Completed an internship at NUS Information Technology (May to Jun 2024).
Worked on the Cyber Security Awareness project described below:
Humans are known to be the weakest link in cybersecurity, and NUS, having a large population of staff and students, is naturally at a significant level of risk. To make matters worse, cyber threat actors are evolving themselves with novel attack methods, resulting in a constant need to play catch-up. Through the research of the latest cyber threats, especially social engineering threats, the aim is to develop and operationalise various security awareness programmes that will apply to NUS users (both staff and students) and improve the university’s security culture and cyber resilience.
Over the course of the internship, the intern has gained the following learning outcomes:
- Learned more in the area of Cyber Security and understand its essential pillar - Security awareness
- Learned more about NUS security activities and operations and how some of the areas link back to security awareness
- Exercised creativity and thinking to deliver an impactful gamified IT Security training module
