An Introduction to the Use of Behavioural and Implementation Sciences to Improve Health Outcomes
Koh Li Ping
As healthcare systems and healthcare providers work under increasingly dynamic and resource-constrained conditions, we need to reconceptualise healthcare and design interventions that are effective and sustainable for the population in the long run. The objective of this in-person, beginner course will introduce participants to Behavioural and Implementation science and the ways they can help to increase the adoption of evidence-based interventions in clinical settings. Our experienced trainers will provide healthcare leaders and managers with case examples and strategies to improve uptake of interventions into routine practices, thereby increasing public health impact and bridging the research-to-practice gap.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand why behavioural and implementation science is important to healthcare.
2. Identify barriers and facilitators that impact the translation of evidence to sustainable practice and system change within healthcare.
3. Identify implementation strategies and implementation outcomes to design and evaluate tailored implementation interventions
4. Describe and apply frameworks to design an effective behavioural and implementation strategy to real-world challenges.
