AUS 2022 Futures Thinking Workshop

Futures Thinking is a framework and methodology that provides decision-makers with the capabilities to develop strategies that can explore multiple future scenarios and prepare for diverse options. Futures Thinking can help us to analyse and anticipate past and future trends, and uncover hidden biases and assumptions to enable us to think about the future more creatively This workshop, specially designed for youth, focuses on the Three Horizons Model, a critical tool used in Futures Thinking that can help us to structure our thinking about the future in ways that spark innovation. It describes three patterns or ways of doing things and how their relative prevalence and interactions evolve over time. The workshop is conducted by the Executive Education Singapore Futures team, at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, which is the first university-based programme in Singapore with specialist expertise in futures thinking and scenario planning applied to the public sector and the challenges of public policy.
