NUS Information Technology Internship (Summer 2023)

Completed an internship at NUS Information Technology (May to Jul 2023). Worked on the Cybersecurity Analyst for Vulnerability Management project described below: NUS IT conducts regular assessments to identify security vulnerabilities to strengthen the University’s cybersecurity posture as part of the Vulnerability Management program. A system configured with a default/weak password can be easily exploited to gain unauthorized access to the system. An efficient and comprehensive proactive detection of default/weak passwords across NUS vast systems can improve the university’s cyber resilience. Over the course of the internship, the intern has been involved in the fulfillment of the below: • Enhance the NUS Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management to better automate and proactively detect systems with default/weak passwords. • Develop and enhance scripts/plugins for security tools to facilitate the detection of systems with default/weak passwords • Increase the detection coverage to include more brands and models
