PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

This course presents the fundamentals of project management as applied in the built environment and more specifically for the construction industry. Participants will learn about the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) using real life examples to demonstrate how various project management principles and concepts can be applied in practice. This course offers an insight to what project management is as well as the project life cycles, stakeholders and organizations involved. It explains the project management processes and how these processes are applied in integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk, procurement and stakeholder management. Participants will also appreciate issues related to ethics and professional conduct in the project management profession. There will be a quiz at the end of each topic to affirm participants’ understanding of the fundamentals of project management in the construction industry.
