Energy Storage for Green Technologies (Synchronous e-Learning) (Completion)
LAI WENQI BOSCO
Energy storage technologies are vital for success of electric mobility and micro-grids to address climate change mitigation. This course introduces various types of storage technologies including pumped hydro, flywheel, compressed air and thermal storage along with their characteristics such as storage capacity and power for various applications. Second part of this course covers various components and working principles of electrochemical and electrical storage technologies including redox flow, Na-S, Li-ion batteries and supercapacitors. This course will also address the factors affecting the performances of Li-ion battery deployed in various sectors including electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems, aerospace and marine and finally illustrate a few failure modes causing safety issues.
