Oral Communications Camp 2021: Acing High-Stakes Conversation

The 2021 CELC Oral Communication Camp will be held via Zoom on 11-12 May. It will focus on critical and ethical dispositions and skills in high-stakes conversations. University students have to engage in such conversations or chats while working on collaborative projects, during meetings with research supervisors or after making formal presentations. University graduates applying for internships, scholarships, career advancement grants and organizational positions also find themselves participating in high-stakes conversations. Crucial discussions with peers, superiors or clients in the workplace often involve navigating conflict and disagreements. Staying calm, listening effectively, knowing how to handle tough questions and speaking clearly and persuasively are key in such situations. This two-day webinar aims to help participants develop relevant communication skills through mini-lectures, breakout room group activities and an interactive panel discussion. The CELC Oral Communication Webinar provides opportunities for participants to practice the skills they have learnt and receive personalized feedback from their instructors.
