University Scholars Programme

The University Scholars Programme is an undergraduate academic programme established in 2001 in the National University of Singapore. It is defined by a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, a rich offering of local and international programmes, and a vibrant residential college experience. Students develop core academic and professional skills that complement their strengths in their majors, and see connections across disciplines. Students live and learn together, establish networks, and develop meaningful engagement with real world matters. It is the aim of the University Scholars Programme to produce graduates who are independent, adaptable thinkers and doers. These graduates will be well-placed to make an impact, to lead Singapore and the world in intellectual, economic, cultural and social endeavours. Students are accepted into the University Scholars Programme on the basis of academic and co-curricular achievements, an essay, and an interview. Students who successfully complete the University Scholars Programme will be designated as University Scholars. Students in this programme constitute approximately three per cent of the total undergraduate population in the university.
