Introduction to Developmental Play (Oct 2022)

Developmental Play is a pioneering approach that ensures children have the fundamentals in place for their cognitive, physical, social and emotional growth, built on the idea that as children grow they need to do different kinds of play. This foundational course studies the theory and practice of play based on the Essame Developmental Play Pyramid. It will show why play matters, how it works and gives a solid foundation in the role of play to support the holistic development of children. Developmental Play is associated with a global drive to bring play back into childhood, and this course forms the first part of a three-part certificate endorsed by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
