Placemaking for City Spaces

This course focuses on three select placemaking strategies/processes occurring in three specific urban and suburban spaces. They include: (a) creative placemaking in arts, cultural and creative precincts; (b) tourism placemaking in tourist attractions and leisure sites; and (c) tactical placemaking in a variety of urban contexts. The course covers both academic/conceptual insights along with practical case studies of Asian and Western cities, ensuring that participants have a comprehensive understanding of the processes, prospects and challenges in urban placemaking.
