With more business pushing for digital transformation, there is a greater need for stronger Data Protection (DP) capability in organisations. Professionals and executives who are appointed as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) need to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out their functions in order to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Having a proper governance structure to oversee the DP efforts in organisations and to be aware of, and be able to mitigate, the risk involved will be an important aspect of the DPO’s work.
